HD. 2174: An Act relative to notice of activation of the Massachusetts National Guard within the Commonwealth
This bill requires the Executive Branch to notify state legislators when the National Guard is deployed to their district and provide specific information on the purpose and length of time of their activation in advance of the deployment.

HD.2678: An Act to ensure access to medical parole

Modeled after the successful Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness (MVP) Program, this bill would create an Agriculture and Fishery Vulnerability Preparedness Grant Fund to support farms and fisheries in planning and implementing climate change adaptation and resiliency initiatives. The grant program would also support technical assistance for farms and fisheries to navigate the funding landscape to support appropriate applications.

HD.3985: An Act establishing an excise tax on guns and ammunition
This bill would establish a 4.75% excise tax on all sales of guns and ammunition, all of which would go towards a Public Health and Safety Fund set up to support community-based interventions to prevent gun violence as well as services for survivors of gun violence and victims’ families.

HD.1565: An Act requiring public pension fund divestment from ammunition and firearms
(co-filed with Representative Livingstone)
This bill would require the state’s public pension fund to divest from all ammunition and firearm manufacturing and retailing companies and to make no new investments in the industry.
