HD.2132: An Act advancing Massachusetts from STEM to STEAM
This legislation updates each existing reference to “STEM” in statute to incorporate the arts, thereby changing “science, technology, engineering and math” to “science, technology, engineering, art and math” (“STEM” to “STEAM”). A growing recognition of the power of arts education and creative skills in critical thinking and problem-solving underscores the importance and value of expanding STEM to STEAM.
HD.2644: An Act relative to the position of poet laureate for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts

This bill would establish the position of poet laureate for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, to be appointed by the governor with support from a poet laureate nominating committee. Massachusetts is currently one of only three states that does not have a poet laureate.
