FOOD DRIVE – September 20, 2025

WHAT:
The Community Food Drive for Hunger Action Month (September 2025) will help stock the Amherst Survival Center’s food pantry and support food distribution to our community. The food drive will give us two purposes: a community event to take action against the cuts in food assistance and a way to join in community to care for one another. Note: residents of Amherst and Granby are eligible to use the food pantry at the Amherst Survival Center.

WHEN:
Saturday, September 20, 2025
Food delivery day: Saturday, September 20, 2025 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

WHERE:
You can set up a local food collection site in your workplace, house of worship, neighborhood, book club, or just participate as an individual or family.
Donations will also be able to be brought to the Amherst Survival Center at 138 Sunderland Road in North Amherst on Saturday, September 20 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

WHY:
Recent federal cuts to food assistance and SNAP, coupled with increasing costs for groceries, is believed to create an significant demand on food programs like the Amherst Survival Center. It will also make it more difficult to tackle hunger. This drive provides us with an opportunity to come together, resist the cuts and feed our community.
