HEALTH FOCUSED

  • TransHealth: https://transhealth.org/
    TransHealth is a healthcare center based in Western Massachusetts that supports trans and gender-diverse individuals and families. They offer clinical care as well as community outreach programs and education.
  • Tapestry: https://www.tapestryhealth.org/
    Tapestry Health is a leader in community-based health care offering a variety of services including gender affirming hormone therapy, medication abortion, and a mobile health clinic. They have locations all over Western MA including in Northampton, Greenfield, and Springfield. 

LEGAL ADVOCACY

  • This law center focuses on assisting marginalized and underserved communities through pro-bono initiatives. Their Gender Affirming Identification Project offers pro-bono legal assistance with name changes, birth certificate amendments, and gender marker changes. PFLAG Franklin-Hampshire Chapter: https://www.fhcpflag.org/home

  • Our local chapter of PFLAG national is based in Northampton and participates in community events, hosts monthly support groups, publishes a newsletter, responds to requests for advice, and participates in advocacy at the State and local levels. 

Stonewall Center (UMass): https://www.umass.edu/stonewall/

  • The Stonewall Center is UMass’s resource center for LGBTQIA+ students, staff, faculty, and the larger community in the Pioneer Valley. They seek to educate the campus community in order to create an inclusive climate for LGBTQIA+ people and allies. They also publish a newsletter and host support groups.

  • Translate Gender is a trans-led organization offering a variety of outreach, community building, and advocacy opportunities including youth programing, caregiver support, mentorship programs, and gender affirming therapy.

YOUTH FOCUSED

  • Gen Q is based in Greenfield and Northampton and hosts peer-led social support groups in person and virtually for youth and young adults 14-24

Out Now: https://www.outnowyouth.org/our-story

  • Out Now is a queer youth organization based in Springfield, MA. They provide a drop-in safe space, educational workshops, and programs to develop leadership skills. They participate in local and regional Pride events.

  • Translate Gender is a trans-led organization offering a variety of outreach, community building, and advocacy opportunities including youth programing, caregiver support, mentorship programs, and gender affirming therapy.


OLDER ADULTS FOCUSED

Rainbow Coffee Hour in Amherst:

  • Rainbow Coffee Hour takes place on the first Tuesday of every month from 10:00-11:30 am at the Amherst Senior Center. It provides a gathering space for LGBTQIA+ people who are over 50.  

Rainbow Elders: https://lifepathma.org/events-workshops/rainbow-elders-events/

  • Rainbow Elders hosts support groups and social events for older LGBTQIA+ adults, including virtual gatherings, a luncheon club, and a newsletter.
